Snowed In
So, it's been a longgggg time since I've posted anything. As some of you may know, the EAST got a huge snow storm so while trapped at school, I figured I'd let you all know how I'm doing and what I've been up to!
Over winter break, I've been working. I had to make some more money so I'd have some money to spend when I got back to school; especially when I want to go snowboarding. I made sure to see some friends while I was home; I think I covered everybody. Unfortunately I had to move back into school a little early; not too early, just by a few days. My job at school got some new software so they scheduled some job training before school started. The real reason I chose to write a blog entry, is for this situation I am currently experiencing.
Monday: I call the residence life office to make sure I am still set to move in early on Friday. I call, they ask my name, student ID, and finally found me on the list. However, due to the huge snow storm we were about to get smacked with, they told me it would be safer to move in on Thursday. So, having ADHD, my mind went frantic for a bit because that type of change I was not ready for and I had planned on leaving Friday. So I had to pack early, get everything straight. Not to mention a part in my car was going bad so I had to quickly schedule that repair in the same week before I was to leave for school. Things felt out of control but I managed.
Thursday: Well the day was here. I had my car packed overnight; all except my morning necessities: toothbrush, comb, deodorant, etc. I had to leave early so I could get back to school before the residence life office closed for the day. So I hopped in my car with a frown on my face and headed for school. Four hours later, I arrive. I stop by the office to get my key, quickly unload my car, and move my car to the vacant lot. as I'm unpacking everything, I receive a text alert from the school's emergency alert system: DUE TO THE UPCOMING SNOW STORM, CAMPUS WILL CLOSE EARLY ON FRIDAY AND REMAIN CLOSED THROUGH THE WEEKEND. MOVE-IN DAY HAS BEEN MOVED TO MONDAY AND CLASSES WILL START ON TUESDAY. Needless to say, I was pissed. Not only had I moved in early and just gotten there, they wanted to shut the place down. Then I get a text from my boss basically saying since the campus is closed, she can no longer hold the training. Reality set in at that point.. I was going to be stuck here, by myself, for four days.
